Finding new perspectives together – mindfully and without prejudice.

In everyday life, we sometimes lose sight of each other. Small misunderstandings can grow into major challenges within a couple or family. That's when it helps to have someone calm by your side – to heal wounds and explore alternative perspectives with awareness and care.

Jan Wirbeleit

My goal is to complement the counselling landscape in Frankfurt – especially in the Ostend district – with a strong focus on culturally sensitive and diversity-aware practice.

Through my work at the Association of Binational Families and Partnerships (iaf e.V.), I work daily with diverse family systems and bring this experience directly into my counselling practice.

I also work in psychosocial crisis services in suicide prevention. My academic background is in psychology – combining scientific grounding with a systemic perspective forms the foundation of my work.

Counselling that fits your life

Whether as a couple, a family, or on your own – I meet you where you are. Each setting offers its own possibilities.

Individual counselling

You and your concern take centre stage. Together, we develop new paths and ideas – around stress, anxiety, personal growth or career direction.

In person · Online · Walk

Couples counselling

A new space for open, safe exchange. Patterns become visible and changeable. Shared wishes and visions can be developed and strengthened – with cultural sensitivity.

In person · Online

Family counselling

Family counselling creates a space where different needs are heard and new room for action is discovered – for all family forms and lifestyles.

In person · Online

Online counselling

Counselling from home, while travelling, or from abroad. You only need an internet connection, a microphone and a camera. Many systemic methods work very well online.

Flexible scheduling

Main Walk

The river Main as a resource: during a walk along Frankfurt's riverbank, we explore your concern from different angles. Fresh air and the calm flow of the river support the process.

Individual counselling outdoors

Systemic · Culturally sensitive · Eye to eye

Systemic counselling sees you in your context – professional, social and familial. Connections and dynamics become visible, new possibilities emerge.

Cultural & diversity sensitivity

Everyone brings their own cultural background, experiences and perspectives. This diversity is a starting point, not an obstacle. In my work with binational families, I experience daily how enriching different perspectives can be.

Resource orientation

I work with your strengths. Even the mountains that seem insurmountable can become vantage points. Together, we discover what you already bring.

Bias-aware practice

Bias exists – including in counselling. A conscious, reflective approach builds trust and opens spaces for genuine encounter. I continuously question my own perspective.

Transparent and fair

Systemic counselling is a self-pay service and is not covered by health insurance. I offer a single hourly rate for all formats.

Good to know

Answers to the most common questions about my counselling practice.

How much does a session cost?

A session costs €80 per 60 minutes – regardless of format. Systemic counselling is a self-pay service and is not covered by statutory health insurance in Germany.

What does culturally sensitive counselling mean?

Culturally sensitive counselling acknowledges that people bring different cultural backgrounds, experiences and lifestyles. This diversity is seen as a resource. I actively reflect on my own biases and create a space where all perspectives are heard.

Where does the counselling take place?

At the practice rooms at Rhönstraße 62 in Frankfurt Ostend (U7, Habsburgerallee stop). Alternatively, I offer online counselling via video and the Main Walk – individual counselling on foot along Frankfurt's riverbank.

What is a Main Walk?

The Main Walk is a counselling format on foot. During a walk along the river Main, we explore your concern from different perspectives. Movement and being in nature can support the reflective process and open new perspectives.

What are your qualifications?

I am a DGSF-certified Systemic Counsellor and Therapist with a background in psychology. I have completed additional training in trauma work at IF Weinheim and am a certified autism counsellor. I work full-time at the Association of Binational Families and in psychosocial crisis services (suicide prevention).

Is the practice accessible?

There are 6 steps to reach the practice rooms. If you have accessibility needs, please get in touch – we can find a solution, for example through online counselling.
